Marguerite Higbee, Scottsdale Therapist

About Marguerite Gourley, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Healing starts with being heard. Whether we’re meeting face-to-face in our Scottsdale center or connecting through a screen in Arizona or Tennessee, my goal is the same: to provide a safe, effective space where you feel truly seen and supported.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works alongside individual and couples to understand and move past stressors from life transitions, relationships, low self-esteem, anxiety, depressionpet loss and grief, and trauma.

Experience

I believe that the most transformative therapy happens at the intersection of clinical expertise and genuine human connection. My mission is to provide a high-trust, judgment-free space where your story is heard and respected. By blending evidence-based strategies with a deep appreciation for your unique journey, we will work together to build the resilience you need to move forward.

For the past five years, I have walked alongside individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and significant life transitions. I have a specialized background in supporting active-duty military, veterans, and their families—helping them navigate the specific cultural stressors and grief unique to that life. My approach is “person-centered” and culturally sensitive, meaning our work will always be tailored to who you are. I am a therapist who is both deeply compassionate and refreshingly direct; I’m here to support you, but also to help you challenge the unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that may be holding you back.

I am trained in: cognitive behavioral therapy, Gottman methods, strengths-based approach, solution-focused brief therapy, and mindfulness therapy
